100 People Will Step Off One Of Cambridge’s Biggest Buildings to Fight Epilepsy
Saturday, June 15th, 2024
(Cambridge, MA) Life changing care for the 111,000 people living with epilepsy in New England could be one very nerve-wracking step away as registration opens for Epilepsy Foundation New England’s (EFNE) first ever Rappel Boston event. 100 people will climb over the edge at the Hyatt Regency in Cambridge, getting a view of Boston and the Charles River like never before as they dangle more than a dozen stories off the side of the building. The unique fundraiser for EFNE will take place Saturday, June 15, 2024. Anyone interested in stepping over the edge can sign up at RappelBoston.org.
“This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to climb off of one of the biggest buildings in Cambridge in a safe and controlled manner,” said David Searles, Epilepsy Foundation New England Vice President of Development. “Each rappeler will help us provide critical support for individuals with epilepsy and their families. The money will help fund needed support groups, scholarships, camp, financial aid, seizure first-aid training, educational webinars, research grants, and more.”
Anyone looking to rappel will need to raise $1,000 for EFNE, an independent 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization that serves individuals living with epilepsy. Rappelers will be treated to a breakfast on the 15th followed by a chance to take the leap. The event will run from 10:00 AM through dusk with climbers heading out throughout the day. There is no experience or prior training needed to register. The Over the Edge staff consists of a team of experts providing the technical expertise, training, and equipment needed who possess an outstanding safety record.
Rappel Boston will take place Saturday, June 15, 2024 at the Hyatt Regency in Cambridge (575 Memorial Drive, Cambridge, MA). Registration is open now at RappelBoston.org
