Account Executive – Media Relations Specialist

Based in the greater Boston area, CK Communications Group is a 17-year-old boutique public relations agency specializing in consumer PR for arts and culture, live events and entertainment and food and dining.  From building buzz to managing events, our goal is to offer exceptional service, creative solutions and measurable results.

We are currently seeking a results-oriented professional to join our team.  The successful individual will have a love for media relations and social media, a positive attitude, common sense, and a strong work ethic. The ideal candidate will have a desire to grow and succeed, the ability to work well in a team environment, to think quickly on their feet and the ability to provide solutions when faced with problems

Requirements:

  • 2-3 years of relevant experience working in an agency or journalism setting
  • Strong writing skills
  • Solid understanding of New England media and a passion for media relations
  • Proficient in social/digital media, including social media advertising and platforms
  • Ability to build relationships, both with the media and clients
  • Ability to take initiative across multiple accounts
  • Understanding of measurement programs
  • Team-oriented
  • Excellent judgment, positive attitude and a desire to contribute
  • Ability to solve problems on his/her own
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
  • Valid driver’s license

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Develop and manage client programs
  • Day-to-day interaction with clients
  • Create and execute media relations plans including determining media targets and messaging
  • Development of media materials including writing press releases, pitches and other documents
  • Build and maintain relationships with targeted reporters and editors
  • Research PR opportunities and manage editorial calendars
  • Execute partnerships and sponsorships to generate good will, publicity and brand building value
  • Planning and execution of special events
  • Design and implement social media campaigns
  • Create client reports and recaps

Digital and Show Marketing Specialist

The Digital and Show Marketing Specialist is responsible for planning and managing marketing campaigns primarily for our clients in the arts and entertainment space, including concert venues, festivals, restaurants and more. This person will play a major role in creating and executing digital programs that enhance brand awareness for our clients and drive direct sales.

There will be some opportunity for this person to support the media relations team, drafting and distributing press releases on behalf of our clients.

Requirements:

  • 0-3 years of post-college digital marketing experience (internships count, digital marketing/public relations preferred)
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or relevant field
  • Strong knowledge of various social media platforms, best practices and analytics
  • Highly creative
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to build relationships and work as member of a team
  • Ability to take direction and respond positively to constructive criticism
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously, meet deadlines and prioritize work
  • Capability to solve problems on his/her own
  • Superior writing skills, visual eye, and a strong attention to detail
  • Valid driver’s license

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Communicate with clients and manage projects
  • Plan and execute social media content and campaigns for Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Instagram stories
  • Manage paid social/digital ad campaigns in coordination with digital agency
  • Build and execute email marketing campaigns
  • Develop event marketing plans utilizing radio, print, email, and social media
  • Coordinate print and digital art with graphic artist
  • Oversee and manage all contests, giveaways, and other digital projects
  • Assist in the development of press releases and media materials
  • Create client reports summarizing work done, results achieved including media coverage secured and analyzing campaign’s overall performance
  • Support staffing and planning of client events

Internships

CK Communications Group is looking for detail-oriented college students with a passion for learning and an upbeat attitude. Applicants must be enrolled in a college/university program, receive academic credit for the internship, work 12 -16 hours per week, and provide their own transportation.

Job Responsibilities – what you will do:

  • Build media lists and event calendars
  • Draft key documents including releases, advisories, and pitches
  • Develop social media copy and content
  • Track client press coverage
  • Staff events
  • Other projects as assigned
    Interns will work collaboratively to build, promote and execute a fundraising event set to take place in December. This hands on project will allow you to get real, practical experience.
