Account Executive: Media Relations
(not currently hiring)
Requirements:
- 2-3 years of relevant experience working in an agency or journalism setting
- Strong writing skills
- Solid understanding of New England media and a passion for media relations
- Proficient in social/digital media, including social media advertising and platforms
- Ability to build relationships, both with the media and clients
- Ability to take initiative across multiple accounts
- Understanding of measurement programs
- Team-oriented
- Excellent judgment, positive attitude and a desire to contribute
- Ability to solve problems on his/her own
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
- Valid driver’s license
Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Develop and manage client programs
- Day-to-day interaction with clients
- Create and execute media relations plans including determining media targets and messaging
- Development of media materials including writing press releases, pitches and other documents
- Build and maintain relationships with targeted reporters and editors
- Research PR opportunities and manage editorial calendars
- Execute partnerships and sponsorships to generate good will, publicity and brand building value
- Planning and execution of special events
- Design and implement social media campaigns
- Create client reports and recaps
