(Cambridge) The Down Home Up Here Bluegrass Festival (DHUH) is returning to Harvard Square with more than a dozen acts set to play Club Passim April 18 and 19. Now in its eighth year, Down Home Up Here showcases the incredible bluegrass acts in New England.
While not a traditional Bluegrass fest, there will be plenty of sightings of Fiddle, Banjos, Mandos, and even the DOBRO.This year’s festival includes sets by The Revenants and Dumpster Debbie, both mainstays in the New England bluegrass scene as well as Rachel Sumner, Pretty Saro, Bella White and more. There will also be a special performance of “Bright Star”, the bluegrass musical written by Steve Martin and Edie Brickell.
“New England has been a hub for bluegrass talent over the past eight years. Down Home Up Here has served as a launching pad for many of these acts like Twisted Pine, The Lonely Heartstring Band, Mile Twelve and Brittany Haas,” said Matt Smith, Managing Director of Club Passim. “Down Home Up Here is THE place to catch tomorrow’s biggest bluegrass stars today.”

Passim does so through their legendary listening venue, music school, artist grants and outreach programs. We cultivate a diverse mix of musical traditions, where the emphasis is on the relationship between performers and audience and teachers and students. Located in Harvard Square, Passim serves Cambridge and the broader region by featuring local, national and international artists.
