Club Passim Hosts Skylar Kergil, Ro Colegrove and Kerr Griffin

CLUB PASSIM HOSTS SKYLAR KERGIL, RO COLEGROVE AND KERR GRIFFIN

THREE TRANSGENDER ARTISTS TO PERFORM SOLO SETS ON AUGUST 8TH

Cambridge, MA – July 24, 2018 – Club Passim will be hosting an evening of music featuring three acclaimed transgender artists August 8th, each performing solo sets. Skylar Kergil, Ro Colegrove and Kerr Griffin, all transgender men, are veterans of the Boston music scene and active in the queer community.

Kergil, a Boston native, was recently recognized by Billboard magazine as one of eleven transgender and non-binary musicians to keep an eye on.  He is a singer/songwriter and poet whose sound employs simple progressions and complicated lyrics to produce folk with a purpose. He is in the process of writing his memoir, “Before I Had The Words – On Being A Transgender Young Adult.”

Delivering his songs in a gentle whisper of a voice, Colegrove takes pride in writing self-described “songs for the underdog.”  Having shared stages with such notable talents as Meg Hutchinson, Edie Carey, and Melissa Ferrick, he is a seasoned storyteller.   He was the recipient of an Iguana Grant from Club Passim in 2008, a grant that awards approximately $45,000 in grants to independent musicians across New England every year.

Griffin prides himself on being both a DIY musician and a crooner.  Having begun his career in an award-winning cover band he eventually decided to focus on his own innovative brand of acoustic rock.   “Taking inspiration from classic rock and contemporary singer-songwriters, Kerr Griffin writes from a place full of emotion, pouring out personal truth that resonates with every listener,”  said Dann Russo, musician and host of “Under The Covers with Dann Russo” on WEMF

Tickets for Skylar Kergil, Ro Colegrove and Kerr Griffin at Club Passim are $15 ($13 for members) and are available at www.clubpassim.org, by calling 617-492-7679 (9:30 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday – Friday) or at the Club Passim box office sixty minutes before the show begins.
