Quincy, MA  –  September 10, 2018  It’s back! Named the scariest Haunted Attraction in Massachusetts by Fodor’s Travel in its 50 Scariest Haunted Attractions in Every State 2017,  Ghost Ship Harbor returns for a third season of sheer terror.  This year they are adding on to the attractions featuring over 100,000 “scare” feet of space, with completely updated haunts, scare zones, paranormal ghost hunts and more.

Ghost Ship Harbor is the only destination haunted attraction in the Boston area and the only one on the East Coast taking place on the deck of a 716-foot heavy cruiser (battleship). Sure to horrify, petrify and force you to confront your fears with a series of interactive and twisted experiences, Ghost Ship Harbor will pull into port aboard the USS Salem in the Quincy Shipyard September 28th for six weeks.

The virus continues and can’t be stopped. Ghost Ship Harbor is the only opportunity for survival – the virus does terrible unspeakable things to people.  Visitors to the ship have once again come in hopes of finding refuge from a terrible plague that has consumed what’s left of civilization.  Through radio transmissions, mankind has learned that this battleship is being commissioned to save anyone who is left and has the wherewithal to get on board.  Getting there by November 3rd is crucial.  This may be the only safe place left on earth… or is it?

Ghost Ship Harbor features completely updated haunts – the next chapter – including Contagion, where visitors will go through an extensive decontamination process and visit the infirmaries performing secretive testing on victims less fortunate than themselves.  In Plague, chaos continues where one quickly realizes that this ship is not safe from the virus.  Once again Fear No Evil welcomes visitors to the terrifying dreams of a young girl.  Isabelle is faced with nightmares of epic proportions and visitors will be confronting her dreams including clowns, spiders, snakes and sea creatures and more.

The USS Salem has been well-documented as haunted.  In 2009 the popular television show, “Ghost Hunters” did an episode on the USS Salem which has led to paranormal investigators from all ‍‍‍over the world wanting to do their own investigations.  Visitors to Ghost Ship Harbor can see for themselves.  Paranormal Ghost Ship, an upgraded VIP experience, is led by some of the best paranormal experts in the business.  From the tools used to the first-hand stories of paranormal activity on the ship, visitors will learn and possibly get to see for themselves how haunting the USS Salem can be going to places on the ship rarely open to the public.  The Paranormal VIP Experience is a 45-minute experience where one will dive into the history of the paranormal beginnings of the USS Salem and get to be a real ghost hunter with their famous paranormal guides.

Produced by Boston-based Immersive Productions, Ghost Ship Harbor also features an all-new virtual reality experience, new and expanded food and beverage options.   In addition, there will be a Walking Dead Wine augmented reality bar, the only one of its kind, providing the opportunity to interact with the Walking Dead characters through a unique photo opportunity and test the augmented reality experience!

“Ghost Ship Harbor is the only haunted attraction in the East that takes place on a Heavy Cruiser,” said Matthew DiRoberto, creator of Ghost Ship Harbor. “It takes thousands of man hours and creativity to construct this six-week event each year. The best thing about Ghost Ship Harbor for our visitors is it will never be the same. Just by the nature of building on a battleship means we aren’t able to put it back the same way we did the year prior. We always hated going to haunts and mazes year after year that never changed so we are going to do the opposite!”
