(Boston) Peter Mulvey’s Lamplighter Sessions return for the 9th year to Club Passim in Cambridge. The 7-night, one room, celebration of music, art and collaboration will feature spontaneous, one time only, unrehearsed performances. Each night of the Lamplighter Sessions is unique featuring performances curated by Mulvey such as a multi-media radio-style play, and songs by the 2019 Tony Award winning Vermont songwriter Anais Mitchell.
The Lamplighter Sessions begin on Friday, October 25th with Tag-Team Duos featuring Mulvey, Rose Polenzani (Sub Rosa), James Rohr (Blue Ribbons, TG4S), Mairi Chaimbeul (Aerialists, Jenna + Mairi) & Barry Rothman (TG4S, Radi0Swan).
On Saturday, October 26th, Mulvey and The Crumbling Beauties reunite to revisit the record that got them together in the first place. Tom Waits’ classic 1985 album Rain Dogs will be performed in its entirety.
On Sunday, Guitar night is back! Yukon Stubblebine has assembled a group of a dozen luthiers to provide their beautiful handmade instruments for David Goodrich and Mulvey to showcase.
On Monday there will be a very special performance of Bone Gristle Blues, a multi-media play. Written by Jason Metz, Bone Gristle Blues is an absurdist evening for those who could use a good laugh during dark times. The cast includes, Mulvey, Susan Scotti, Jason Metz, Ruth Anzalone, Chris Anzalone, Chuck Bartlett, and Mike Spencer.
Tuesday, October 29th will be an evening of songs by the 2019 Tony Award winning Vermont songwriter Anais Mitchell. Mitchell developed her album Hadestown into a musical which won the 2019 Tony Award for Best Musical.
Wednesday, October 30th is the last stop on Mulvey’s There Is Another World tour. Peter will be joined by Dinty Child, Jenna Moynihan, Lyle Brewer, Paul Kochanski and Barry Rothman.
Finally, on Thursday, October 31st, it is the annual haunted Halloween party with tricks and treats hosted by the horrifying Peter Mulvey and featuring ghoulish Tim Gearan, unearthly Ali Mcguire, all backed by those hypnotic zombies Thank God For Science.
