Horror fanatic and Ice Nine Kills frontman Spencer Charnas oversees the fifth year of Silver Scream Con, fresh off of his group’s official collaborations with Terrifier 3, Dead by Daylight, Halloween: The Game, Ready or Not 2, and the record-breaking Scream 7, which gave the band their first-ever No. 1 song at rock radio with “Twisting the Knife.”
“Creating an immersive experience like Silver Scream Con was a dream of mine for as long as I’ve been into horror and music and started attending horror cons myself,” Charnas explains. “It’s a testament to Ice Nine Kills’ beloved ‘Psychos’ and the horror community of New England that our convention is about to celebrate its fifth year.”
Like its predecessors, Silver Scream Con V boasts a lineup of stone-cold killers from the worlds of film and TV. This year’s guests include Linda Blair (The Exorcist), David Howard Thornton (Terrifier), Juliette Lewis(Natural Born Killers), David Arquette (Scream), Malcolm McDowell (Rob Zombie’s Halloween), Celeste O’Connor (Scream 7), Ethan Embry (Scream 7), Devon Sawa (Idle Hands), Shawnee Smith (Saw), Alice Krige (Silent Hill), Ruby Modine (Happy Death Day), Jeff Daniel Phillips (Rob Zombie’s The Munsters), Adrinne Barbeau (The Fog), Noah Garrett (Scream 7), Andy Robinson (Hellraiser), and more. They’re joined by several of the fiends behind the masks, including Ghostface performers Lee Waddell, Noah Garrett, Jeremy Conner, and Chris Durrand, and the Creeper himself, Jonathan Breck (Jeepers Creepers).
Ice Nine Kills always laces their love of gore with a healthy dose of dark humor, and Silver Scream Con V has no shortage of comedic performers, including the entire Broken Lizard troupe behind Super Troopers (Jay Chandrasekhar, Kevin Heffernan, Steve Lemme, Paul Soter, and Erik Stolhanske), Steve-O (Jackass), Nick Swardson (Grown Ups), Joel David Moore (Grandma’s Boy), Jerky Boys creator Johnny Brennan, and the Scary Movie duo of Lochlyn Munro and Jon Abrahams.
This year will also see the return of Jamie Madrox and Monoxide, aka Detroit’s Demented Duo, Twiztid, as well as The Funeral Portrait frontman Lee Jennings.
Guests also include WWE legend Amy Dumas (aka Lita) and Silver Scream Queen Nadia Teichmann. Panels are once again hosted by the “master of panels,” veteran journalist Ryan J. Downey, a frequent behind-the-scenes collaborator with INK.
Having traveled the globe as part of Metallica’s M72 World Tour, INK joins legends like Slash and the late Ozzy Osbourne as contributors to Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood. INK created original music for this year’s Terror Tram starring Art the Clown. October 3rd’s sold-out show at Worcester’s Palladium, featuring Ice Nine Kills, Twiztid, and Millington is destined to be a night to dismember.
