Club Passim Host Zumix Mini Fest February 26th at 7:00 PM

(Cambridge MA) – Club Passim to host Zumix Mini Fest, a fundraising event featuring artists from Berklee College of Music and youth singer songwriters from Boston based musical non-profit Zumix on February 26th at 7:00 PM ET. Zumix provides the most quality music education for a low-income and historically underserved neighborhood.

Built on the core belief that using music is the most powerful means of developing adolescent self-identity, Zumix serves over 500 youth per year through after-school and summer programming and 500 through in-school partnerships. With a vision of community as a place where all people prosper through the power of creativity, self-actualization, and collaboration, their programs provide students with the necessary tools for them to reach their full potential, while creating a safe space for youth to explore why they are and who they want to be.

Ava Dudani is a vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, educator, and community organizer. Originally from the Allston-Brighton neighborhood of Boston, Ava is dedicated to the growth of art spaces in the city of Boston as opportunities for community building. She is a graduate of Berklee College of Music and is continuing to share her music locally in and around Boston.

Jiro Dueñez is a Boston-based songwriter from San Diego, California.  His roots stem from old folk and country tunes his father would play him as a kid. Through the years, Jiro’s style has developed into an introspective & personal work that is constantly growing. His source of inspiration draws from conversations and time spent with people, both in passing and long-term. In 2021, Jiro released an EP, titled ‘A Little Blue’ which debuted his efforts as a self-produced songwriter.

Andy Wazz & The No Names are a high energy funky group set out to make you groove so hard you lose your shoes! They play an original brand of rockin’ funk/R&B proven scientifically to make you move your body.

Jessica Barco Guerra is a vocalist, student and songwriter from the Boston area. Her stage name is Nayely and has embraced the Zumix community by being a student and a co-facilitator. She has been a part of Zumix’s youth band, Oceanz. Nayely is a student in Berklee City Music. She hopes to continue expressing herself through writing and helping others smile through the music she shares. Nayely released her first single “Infinity” last year and is excited to continue developing her artistry.
